At camp I got to work with amazing people. Two of which happened to be married to each other. Niki was my co-counselor in the best cabin at camp, Mohawk. This girl was strict but hilarious with the girls, you could always hear her cheering the loudest for our cabin it was awesome. We balanced each other out very well. I was good with mornings, she was ok with bathroom duty which I hated. She was great with getting the girls to clean, I was good with making sure everyone was on task. I could not have asked for a better partner in crime. Her lovely husband was on my Team I. (Teams were one counselor from each cabin, we were responsible for evening activities, it's how they split up on/off duty etc.) There was one particular team member that drove us crazy, she thought the I in "Team I" was meant for her because everything had to be about her. She was a rule breaker which is the total opposite of me so I struggled with her. Andrew helped me keep my sanity and make things work out for the best. He was so creative and always thinking about what would work best for the kids, he was an asset to the team. And there were times when I had to gently help remind him that we couldn't do everything we may have wanted to with our limited planning time. It gave me good practice dealing with guys because he was taken so I could actually be his friend and I wasn't worried about impressing him, it was the kind of relationship that one benefited more that the other. Symbiotic? I don't know I didn't pay attention well in science but I know he helped me so much. Anyways, these two grew to be people that I really looked up to and enjoyed. We all took care of each other and looked out for one another. They are what I call "the best kind of people." So glad they came to visit.
